Our annual report and accounts for 2019 to 2020 have been published, detailing some of our achievements during the past year.

We delivered against our key operational and financial targets, including 92% of the measures in our Operational Delivery Plan with the Scottish Government.

Exceeded targets

We’ve exceeded targets across our services, including:

  • decontamination
  • primary care payments
  • national contracts
  • fraud prevention

Our response to coronavirus (COVID-19)

These successes have been achieved while also responding to the coronavirus pandemic since the beginning of 2020. The pandemic has stretched every part of the NHS, and we’ve played a critical role in meeting the challenges of coronavirus.

Collaboration and commitment

Partnership working is at the heart of everything we do here at NSS. And we’ve worked closely with health board colleagues, the social care sector, government and the third sector to deliver for the people of Scotland.

Our Chief Executive, Colin Sinclair, and Chair, Keith Redpath, thanked staff and stakeholders for their commitment, skill, hard work and collaborative approach. You can read Colin’s full statement on page 4 of the report and Keith’s statement on page 7.
