Professor Marc Turner

Professor Marc Turner was appointed as the Director of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) in January 2022. He is Professor of Cellular Therapy at the University of Edinburgh.

Marc has a degree in medicine (MB ChB), a PhD in human haematopoietic stem cell biology and an MBA in Life Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Physicians, the Royal Society of Pathologists and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

He is also a Commissioner on the Commission on Human Medicines, and a Member of the Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood, Tissues and Organs and of the Scottish Medicines Consortium.
