Track your prescriptions
You can use our prescription tracker to check the current status of a prescription by entering the barcode.
It allows GPs and pharmacy contractors to track prescription forms with barcodes (unique prescription numbers or UPNs) that begin with 'A' or 'K'.
You can now search Pharmacy First and Universal Claims Framework (UCF) prescriptions.
The prescription tracker provides information such as:
- date and time of a request
- date and time of a claim
- pharmacy phone number.
Prescription Tracker – Important Information
Please be aware that the prescription tracker will only show the last known electronic location.
For example:
- If a pharmacy creates a label and submits an electronic claim, but later returns the paper prescription to the patient, due to stock issues, the tracker still shows that pharmacy as having claimed it.
- In such cases, the patient may take the prescription to another pharmacy to get the item dispensed. This may result in pharmacies requesting claim cancellations to re-scan prescriptions. However, cancelling the original claim does not resolve the issue, once a barcode is claimed electronically, it cannot be claimed again.
- Additionally, the tracker does not indicate when a prescription has been cancelled by the GP practice.
If the prescription tracker is unavailable, you can contact the ePharmacy helpdesk with the barcode (UPN) number.
This will allow us to confirm if the prescription has been claimed by a community pharmacy.
