Date received – 04 July 2022 | Date responded – 02 August 2022

Request

Correspondence between the National Services Division, University of Dundee and NHS Tayside regarding essential tremor treatment including discussions about MRI-guided focused ultrasound going back to 2017, or in line with data retention policies, whichever one goes back furthest.

Response

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 04 July 2022 requesting the following information.

Correspondence between the National Services Division, University of Dundee and NHS Tayside regarding essential tremor treatment including discussions about MRI-guided focused ultrasound going back to 2017, or in line with data retention policies, whichever one goes back furthest.

I can advise you that we have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

We have identified the following relevant correspondence (listed below and attached) in the forms of application paperwork, minutes of meetings, emails and have provided the dates and times of informal Microsoft (MS) Teams meetings held between a representative of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), National Services Division (NSD) and NHS Tayside.

The records may not be complete as the former Medical Directors of NSD Dr. Mike Winter and Dr. Nicola Steedman are no longer with the organisation and their PA has now retired thus we have no access to their historical emails or their diaries. In addition, email addresses were migrated in 2020 from nhs.net to nhs.scot and some emails or diary records may no longer be held as a result of the transition between platforms.

I trust you will find the information of assistance and if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of how we have dealt with your request you can make representations to us asking us to review the handling of your request.

If you require any further information please contact Associate Director Information Security & Governance, within 40 working days of the date of this correspondence.
