Request

I would like to submit an FOI request for the volume of Fibrinogen Concentrate, Prothrombin Complex Concentrate, and DOAC Antidote distributed at NHS Scotland hospitals in 2022 (total volume January to December), broken down by product (see below). If the volume by brand is not available, I would like to request the number of vials distributed by brand:

Under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act, 2002 an organisation does not have to provide the requested information if it does not hold that information. NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) cannot provide details regarding some of the medicines you have listed, as there we do not hold any record of these medicines being distributed. The local Health Boards (HBs) may be able to provide you with more information regarding the usage of these medicines.

What we can provide you with is, Appendix 1 - Beriplex issued FY2022. This shows the Beriplex vial measurements and quantities distributed to Scottish Hospitals in 2022.

The attached Appendix 2 – Usage Figures, details the medicines (Riastap, Beriplex & FEIBA) that have been delivered to Homecare patients and pharmacies. The data is for financial Years 2021-22 & 2022-23. We do not hold any data for Fibryga, FibCLOT, Octaplex, Prothromplex, Praxbind or Ondexxya/Andexxa. We do not hold any data prior to or after this period as it is obtained on an ad hoc basis.
