Would it be possible to get the latest figures pertaining to the different IOL categories implanted within the NHSS?

So is it possible to obtain the numbers of Monofocals, Torics, 3 piece and Enhanced Monofocals implanted within all NHS hospitals?

I can advise you that we have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

Please see below the latest figures available pertaining to the different IOL categories implanted within NHS Scotland:

• Lot 1 - Monofocal lenses | 12869
• Lot 2 - Toric lenses | 358
• Lot 3 - Viscoelastic/OVD | 53726

Key points to note regarding the figures provided:

• The data above is from the period 01 January 2023 to 30 September 2023, however not all suppliers have provided up to date uptake data, so we cannot attest to its accuracy.

• This data does not reflect actual procedures as some Health Boards may have bought in bulk or rundown current stocks to switch to the new contract pricing.
