Request

Under the Freedom of Information act I would like to request information relating to all contracts between health boards in Scotland and the telecommunications firm Oricom Ltd.

Now that the NHS Counter fraud services investigation into the company and the subsequent criminal trial has concluded, I wish to obtain the details of:

  • All contracts for services awarded to Oricom Ltd by Scottish health boards.
  • The value and length of these contracts and what they were for 
  • Details of any contracts with Oricom terminated during the investigation into the company

Response

I refer to your freedom of information request that we received on 09 June 2025 requesting the following information.

Under the Freedom of Information act I would like to request information relating to all contracts between health boards in Scotland and the telecommunications firm Oricom Ltd.

Now that the NHS Counter fraud services investigation into the company and the subsequent criminal trial has concluded, I wish to obtain the details of: 

  • All contracts for services awarded to Oricom Ltd by Scottish health boards.
  • The value and length of these contracts and what they were for 
  • Details of any contracts with Oricom terminated during the investigation into the company

We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

  • All contracts for services awarded to Oricom Ltd by Scottish health boards.
  • The value and length of these contracts and what they were for 
  • Details of any contracts with Oricom terminated during the investigation into the company

Under Section 17(1) of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 (FOISA), an organisation is not required to provide information if it does not hold it. NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) does not hold the requested information. NSS can confirm that Oricom have never been awarded any national contracts or local NSS services.

We would suggest that you contact each of the NHSScotland health boards using the emails listed below, as they may be able to provide the requested information. Under the terms of FOISA we are unable to transfer this request on your behalf.
