Response

We have now completed the search of our records and can provide you with the following information:

Appendix 1 – Homecare Patient Delivery of Coagulation Factors. This appendix provides information that NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) National Procurement (NP), holds in relation to framework NP30124 Homecare Deliveries of Clotting Medicines for October 2025 only.

Under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act, 2002 (FOISA) an organisation does not have to provide that information if it does not hold it. NSS does not hold the data for November and December 2025 as NSS has not yet received the uptake data for the coagulation factors homecare delivery service. Under the same section of the act, we are also unable to provide the detail for the exact number of patients. Please note: The numbers provided do not necessarily equal the number of individual patients treated, as some IDs may be duplicates, for example, one patient ID may in fact have multiple orders.

Under Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA, NSS has redacted details where patient numbers are 5 or below to protect their identity in line with Caldicott Principles.

We can also provide you with the following:

Appendix 2 – Pharmacy and Homecare Usage of Coagulation Factors. This appendix provides the total usage of Coagulation Factors in Scotland for October 2025 only. The figures provided include Home Delivery & Pharmacy issue.

Under Section 17 of FOISA an organisation does not have to provide that information if it does not hold it. NSS does not hold the requested data for Scotland for November or December 2025, as this has not been received.

Please note: Where there is has been no usage of a particular Coagulation Factor, this is marked as N/A. We are also unable to provide patient numbers for pharmacy and homecare usage as we do not record that level of detail.

Please note there may be other usage in hospitals that is not detailed in these appendices. You may wish to contact the individual Health Boards at the addresses below who may be able to provide more detailed figures:
