Continuing Professional Development Allowance (CPDA)

Continuing Professional Development Allowance (GP 214) and Continuing Professional Development Allowance for Enhanced Domiciliary Care Allowance (GP 214 - ESD):
The CPDA is available to dentists providing General Dental Services (GDS) in Scotland who attend approved courses that meet the educational criteria set by the General Dental Council for recertification. This allowance supports ongoing professional development and enhanced practitioner training, including mentoring in domiciliary care.
Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be on a Health Board dental list and actively providing GDS.
- Courses must be verifiable CPD and approved by the Postgraduate Dental Education Centre.
- Claims must relate to sessions attended during the relevant financial year.
Submission Process – Change from Paper to PDF
This is not a new or updated process but a change in submission format. The Continuing Professional Development Dental form (GP214) is now available here.
Please note that paper submissions will no longer be accepted. All completed forms must now be submitted in PDF format via a personal or practice NHS email address to NSS.psd-dental-payments@nhs.scot, with the subject line including “CPDA-" with your individual List Number.
