Quality Improvement Activity Cycle 2025–28

The aim of this activity is to explore patient experience of receiving Statement of Dental Remuneration (SDR) Item 2A - Enhanced Preventive Advice and Treatment following the introduction of dental payment reform in November 2023.

Project Theme Cycle Year 1: "Patient Perceptions of enhanced prevention"

To be eligible for the Quality Improvement Activity Cycle 2025-28 Year 1 claim, dentists must complete the following two activities:

• A patient feedback questionnaire
• A practice team-based reflective activity

Each year of the QI cycle is defined as beginning on 1 August and ending on 31 July of the following calendar year. This period is referred to as the ‘cycle year’.

Project Release Date: 1 August 2025

Reflection Report Submission Deadline: 31 July 2026

Claim Submission: Must be made to Practitioner Services Scotland (PSD) within 6 months of project completion.

Quality Improvement (QI) Allowance 2024 Cycle Ending July 2025

QI Previous 3 year Cycle August (2022 – July 2025 form) QI001 can be accessed here or Dentists who complete only some activities should submit a QI002 claim form for a partial allowance which can be accessed here.

Dentists who complete all three activities should submit a QI001 claim form and to be eligible for the previous QI allowance, dentists must complete the following three activities:

1. Team-based reflective report

2. Equality and Diversity online training module

3. Practice-level workforce census (to be completed by 12 June 2024)

Dentists who complete all three activities should submit a QI001 claim form. Those who complete only some activities may submit a QI002 claim form for a partial allowance.

The submission of claims for payment must be made within 6 months of date of completion of your project.
