Claim for commitment payments

Published on 19 July 2024

Dentists who carry out NHS General Dental Services (GDS) receive a quarterly reward based on the commitment payment criteria.

Payments are calculated automatically against the criteria set by the Statement of Dental Remuneration. And once you've applied and been accepted, there’s no need to claim again.

If you think you’re eligible to receive these payments, you should download and complete a commitment payment mandate.

Commitment payments in respect of GDS-related activities should be claimed by downloading the DPD 288 form.

Commitment payments for part-time dentists

If you’re a part-time dentist, please download the GP224 claim form or request one from your local NHS board.

Commitment payments for dental assistants

Commitment payments for dental assistants should be claimed by downloading the GP232 claim form.

How to submit commitment payment claims

You can submit your completed forms or mandates to nss.psd-dental-payments@nhs.scot

Please note that any Dentist who does GDS related activities must complete and send in the GDS related activities form for the start of the new financial year.
