Access the schedule close dates, and customer administration and prior approval timescales

The information below highlights payment dates, cut-off dates for claim submission and details of any additional payments.

April (paid May 2024)

  • eDental and eOrthodontic: Monday 6 May at 5pm
  • Payment date: Monday 20 May

GP21a’s must be received by Monday 6 May at 5pm and we will aim to process these for the March paid April schedule.

We cannot carry out any changes within the payment system for example, resigning or setting up new list numbers, carrying out bulk transfers, adjustments from Tuesday 7 May until after midday on Monday 13 May, while the payment schedule is being processed.

March (paid April 2024)

  • eDental and eOrthodontic: Friday 5 April at 5pm
  • Payment date: Friday 19 April

GP21a’s must be received by Friday 5 April at 5pm and we will aim to process these for the March paid April schedule.

We cannot carry out any changes within the payment system for example, resigning or setting up new list numbers, carrying out bulk transfers, adjustments from Monday 8 April until after midday on Monday 15 April, while the payment schedule is being processed.

February (paid March 2024)

  • eDental and eOrthodontic: Tuesday 5 March at 5pm
  • Payment date: Wednesday 20 March

GP21a’s must be received by Tuesday 5 March at 5pm and we will aim to process these for the February paid March schedule.

We cannot carry out any changes within the payment system for example, resigning or setting up new list numbers, carrying out bulk transfers, adjustments from Wednesday 6 March until after midday on Tuesday 12 March, while the payment schedule is being processed.

January (paid February 2024)

  • eDental and eOrthodontic: Monday 5 February at 5pm
  • Payment date: Tuesday 20 February

GP21a’s must be received by Monday 5 February at 5pm and we will aim to process these for the January paid February schedule.

December (paid January 2024)

  • eDental and eOrthodontic: Thursday 4 January at 5pm
  • Payment date: Friday 19 January

GP21a’s must be received by Thursday 4 January at 5pm and we will aim to process these for the December paid January schedule.

We cannot carry out any changes within the payment system for example, resigning or setting up new list numbers, carrying out bulk transfers, adjustments from Friday 5 January until after midday on Friday 12 January, while the payment schedule is being processed.

November (paid December 2023)

  • eDental and eOrthodontic: Thursday 7 December at 5pm
  • Payment date: Wednesday 20 December

GP21a’s must be received by Thursday 7 December at 5pm and we will aim to process these for the November paid December schedule.

We cannot carry out any changes within the payment system for example, resigning or setting up new list numbers, carrying out bulk transfers, adjustments from Friday 8 December until after midday on Wednesday 13 December, while the payment schedule is being processed.

Customer Administration Timescales

Within our customer administration team, the majority of the turnaround periods are 20 working days from receipt except for GP21a, GP208/GP209 and GP200.

GP21a and GP208/GP209 – we aim to turn them around within 2 - 4 working days from receipt.

GP200 – because of the volumes and in view of withdrawal dates on the GP200 forms, we aim to process withdrawals within the first available schedule closest to the withdrawal date. For instance, if we were to receive a withdrawal date of 12 December 2022 in early November 2022, we would aim to withdraw this patient in the December 2022 schedule. Please note that this also depends on when the GP200 has been received. If it has been received at the close of schedule, then the patient may not be withdrawn until the next schedule.

There are periods when the payment schedules for Dental and Ophthalmic are being run, when some tasks cannot be actioned, so during this time the turnaround periods will vary.

Prior Approval Timescales

Within our Prior Approval team, the turnaround period for Approval requests are 2 months for General Dentistry and 3 months for Orthodontics.

Valid payment claims are processed in the first available schedule. Rejections within MIDAS are dealt within 20 working days, however they normally clear at the end of each schedule.

The information below details the submission dates we are currently reviewing for prior approvals.

General prior approval

  • Awaiting Dental Adviser review: 28 March 2024
  • Awaiting Prior Approval Officer review: 12 April 2024

Orthodontic prior approval cases

  • Awaiting Dental Adviser review: 11 March 2024
  • Awaiting Prior Approval Officer (PAO) review: 02 April 2024
  • Awaiting Physical evidence: 07 March 2024
