How to support sensitive patients

In cases where a person requires their identity to be managed carefully, it is important that information sharing only happens where it is essential.
We support GP practices that encounter cases that require a level of sensitivity.
Examples include patients who are:
- going through the adoption/fostering process
- part of the Witness Protection Scheme (WPS)
- transgender.
If such cases arise, please liaise with your local Practitioner Services office, who will provide advice on the necessary processes.
