Update on Scottish Infected Blood Support Scheme (SIBSS) and Interim Infected Blood Compensation payment closing dates.

Ahead of the closure of SIBSS and transfer of remaining members to the Infected Blood Compensation Authority on 1st February 2027, please be advised of the following closing dates:

Interim Estate Applications to SIBSS must be received by 30th October 2026. We will make every effort to process all applications received by that date, but we strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible. Estates of eligible infected people can still apply for compensation with the Infected Blood support Scheme (IBCA)

Bereaved partner registration and discretionary payment applications will also close on 30th October 2026. You can register your intent to claim here

Closing applications on the 30th October 2026 ensures that we can process all applications received prior to closing.
