Dr Sharon Hilton-Christie

Sharon was appointed as NSS Executive Medical Director on 8 April 2024, having previously worked as an Associate Medical Director at NHS Tayside.

As a doctor, she’s practised in a range of clinical care settings and has a background of medical leadership and management.

Sharon’s held a number of clinical roles in the NHS more widely since 2017 and is specialised in clinical governance, patient safety and risk management and critical care. She’s committed to ensuring NSS services meet health and social care needs and deliver value to the people of Scotland.

Sharon’s the Executive Lead for the Clinical Governance Committee.
