This document provides guidance on the safe and consistent management of linen at all stages of the laundering process within NHS Scotland, from uplift of linen from the care area to completion of reprocessing, transport and storage.
This guidance is complemented by Chapter 1: Standard Infection Control Precautions which covers safe management of linen at care area level in the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM) and Care Home Infection Prevention and Control Manual (CHIPCM).
