The Insertion and Maintenance of Peripheral Venous Catheters (PVC) literature reviews for Adults (V2.0 Sep 2014) and Neonates (V1.0 May 2018) were amalgamated and updated using a two-person methodology to produce this new literature review.
The aim is to review the extant scientific literature regarding insertion and maintenance of peripheral venous catheters (PVCs) in health and care settings to inform an evidence based peripheral venous catheter insertion and maintenance Quality Improvement Tool (QIT) and recommendations for practice.
