Before making an application

All applications must have the full support of your board or Chief Executive within your organisation.

If you wish to discuss this informally with NSD prior to submitting an application please contact nss.nationalplanning@nhs.scot

The application process for submitting a proposal for a specialist service or national network is as follows:

Application

Complete the online Application which seeks information including: an indication of clinical need, expected benefits, level of evidence available, target patient group, expected numbers and evidence of support for the application from the key decision makers must be included to continue with the application.

You can find an example of the type of information required in this Guidance document It is strongly recommended that you download the Guidance document to prepare your responses before you begin the online Application form.
