Lutathera for neuroendocrine tumours
Published on 24 November 2020
Lutathera therapy treatment for neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) is provided at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow.
What is the Lutathera Therapy Service?
The service provides in-patient and follow-up treatment to people with small bowel NETs that are somatostatin receptor (SSR) positive. Lutathera therapy slows down the growth of tumours, or prevents them from growing altogether.
After each treatment, a post-therapy nuclear medicine scan assesses distribution of the Lutathera. Follow-up care will continue to be provided jointly by the patient’s local team and the national service.
