Whistleblowing

From 1 April 2021, a revised 'Once for Scotland Workforce Policy for Whistleblowing' has been introduced across NHSScotland for raising concerns about patient safety or other harm.

A process has been developed by the Independent National Whistleblowing Officer (INWO) to raise concerns as set out in the National Whistleblowing Standards. This provides support and protection to individuals when raising concerns if you see something wrong.

Please refer to the NHSScotland Workforce Policies website to view the step-by-step guidance.

You can read about whistleblowing concerns since the national standards came into force in our first Whistleblowing Annual Report – for the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022.

To contact us, please email nss.whistleblowing@nhs.scot or phone 0131 275 6556.

Equality and Diversity

NSS is committed to the principles of equality, diversity and human rights in employment, and one way of doing this is to carry out equality and pay gap audits.
